SNOW GROOMING ?

WHY ARE THERE OPEN AND CLOSED TIMES FOR THE SKI SLOPES?

As soon as the ski slopes are closed, the snowplough takes over the whole ski area. The timing is very precise, because it is essential to do this before the snow freezes again, and this varies with the different sectors (hillsides, the bottom of “dolines”, or enclosed valleys) .
If we miss the exact time we need to wait for a major thaw, otherwise we end up with a “potato field”, in which case the roller can only skim the surface of the frozen snow cover.
This is why the “delayed” skier is not popular….

In fact, apart from the fact that it is an infringement of the Municipal Law fixing the times the slopes can be used, if the “latecomer” returns after the snowplough roller has set off, he will make fairly deep tracks in the newly rolled snow, and the following morning skiers will not appreciate these hardened ruts!

So please respect the work we do, which is in everyone’s best interests.
